MidMonth KAL with MonthlyDishcloths

I just realized I hadn't posted my mid-month KAL, silly me. Well here it is, I liked the pattern so much, I made a scrap soap holder and I'm making a handtowel. I think this will be a great gift set for someone, I won't say who just in case they start reading my blog. I doubt they will but I dont want to chance it.

I Like the back of the washcloth too.

Star Badge

Here is something I've finally finished. Bet you could never guess what this is knit from, well maybe some of you could, but I'm pretty sure most would be surprised. It's embroidery floss in a star washcloth pattern with size 1 needles. I tried to block it, that worked okay, it was my first time blocking. It was kind of neat to do this because I now know how to change colors, make stripes, and just in general add another ball of "yarn". I just went with when I ran out of floss but I got the idea. I still definitely need to work on my binding off, I'm a bit tight and I didn't have a size 2 or 3 needle so I could bind off a little looser, my next size is a 6 or a 7, that might be a bit too big :). Well, I thought some would find this kind of cool. I also have a picture of the badge here with a nickel to show size equivalence.

Knit Wrist bag

This site has a bag that I think would work great as a carrying bag for a small project, like a washcloth, it's needles and yarn. hmmm.

Power Outage & hearing test

So we had a big storm last night, or at least big enough to kill the power. Grr. I guess lightning hit a transformer, and killed the power in our part of town. Then this morning after all is supposedly fixed, it goes out again, just as the girls are waking up and getting ready for that whole breakfast thing. Of course, with the power being out, no scrambled eggs, just cherrios and raisins. I was even scared to open the fridge too much because the power had been out so many times and for so long. The storm over all wasn't even that bad here, supposedly there was hail at my parents place about 4 miles north of our house and there had been hail south of us too. But no hail for us, yeah.

On another note, the Health center lady stopped by to assess juju and see if she was really having any problems. As far as she's concerned, we don't need to be. Juju is just being a late bloomer in the speech dept, but her understanding and hearing seem to be fine. So there. :P

Thursday Knitting Group

So I went to my Thursday night knitting group in Woodbury. Much fun was had. I had dinner with Rachel L. first at Chipotle. We got to watch some people be surrounded by state troupers (4 to be exact) and two small SUVs got hauled off on tow trucks. One of the cop cars had died so it needed to be jumped. And one of the SUVs, when I drove up, had all it's contents strewn about behind it in the parking lot. There were two guys and a girl, the guys had handcuffs and the girl didnt, I found that to be odd. In the end it looked like some kind of citations were given out and the boys eventually got to lose the cuffs. I dont know what it was all about but I suspect drugs of some sort. Who knows.

Anyways, then off to Michael's, a craft store, where I perused the knitting section, and found some pretty washcloth cotton for some projects that are stiring in my brain. :D Then off to knitting group, where not much knitting happened and lots of talking did. Its nice to get out once in awhile and talk to other adults without having to worry about your kids. Dont get me wrong, I love my girls, but a small break every other week is well needed. Sometimes I wish it was every week, but my SCA meeting conflict, and I have to go to those because I hold two offices. So every other week it is. I don't even mind other people's kids being around, as long as I dont have to run after my own for a bit.

I left late as usual, I try to leave at 9pm and always endup leaving a 1/2 hour later. Argh. Then off to Blockbuster to drop off movies that are overdue, then over to Wal-mart for a new broom and the yarn I need for my Mom's x-mas/yule gift.

Now I believe its time for bed, but we'll see, since lately midnight to 12:30 seem to be when I finally get calledto bed.

More knitting and SCA later.

My First KAL

My first KAL was a dolphin washcloth, this was done with the MonthlyDishcloths group, link on the side. I didn't block it and wont get a chance to either, I gave it to my m-i-l, as a partial trade for watching my girls while hubby and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.

Here is a picture of it.

I also plan on posting some pictures of the hats I've been knitting to sell. I love knitting the newborn size, they take no time at all. And now I don't even mind the 12-18 month size compared to the 24 months size that I had to figure out myself, I'm not a big fan of knitting straight st in the round for forever. Or at least it feels like forever. But like I said I'll take some pics one of these days and post them.
Just some random pictures. One is a joke pic (the blonde one) and the BW are ones that I took in Tennessee at an old mill.

Just trying to get some pics up :D

Just a note. T, my hubby wont allow pics of the family up on the net on unsecure sites, so none of our family will be up. But no worries plenty of knitting projects to come and other random tidbits. By the way this is how I feel right now. See picture below.
