Test Knit Sock

I test knit a sock, pattern is not available yet. It is the cutest damn thing! I still need to make the second one so that they can be a Christmas gift for my Goddaughter. I made them big, she isn't even one yet, in the hopes she can wear them longer, maybe with another sock for now and then alone when she is bigger.

PS Sorry the picture isn't great, taken at work with my cellphone with no natural light to speak of near me.

I am also excited to be test knitting a dress for one of my girls for the holidays, I'm hoping to get one done for each girl and a sweater for boy, I hate waiting for the yarn.

Working

So I have moved jobs. I no longer work for a cold storage but instead work for a bank. The commute is sucky but at least I get home at about the same time everyday.

Kids are doing fine. Ju is in 3rd grade and starting to get that pre-teen-atude. The Tweedles Ro and Ra are in 2nd grade and doing well, still emotional but that is just who they are. The Boy is in 1st grade, he doesn't like it as much as kindergarten because it is harder but he seems to be the most natural academic.

Husband is fully bearded for a long while now, I love it. Didn't think I would at first but it's grown on me. He has lightning streak white hairs in all that dark and I find it very handsome. He is doing well and starting to do more SCA heavy fighting again. I think he really missed it.

We had two dogs at the beginning of the year but unfortunately had to give one away. Boris the cat is getting old and cricks when he walks but he is holding in there. The puppy we kept is named Brutus and he is half lab, half something we don't know but I think is great dane. Pictures hopefully soon to follow.

I'm doing all right. Keeping afloat the best I know how. Work is slow and sometimes tedious but it is work, so I can't really complain. My klutziness is high but what can I do about that other than be more careful around stairs. I am knitting more. Took a couple test knit gigs where I get to keep what I made, I am hoping it will help with the holiday gift giving.

Hopefully more later. I am trying to be more committed to documenting things for the future.

Where have I been...

I've been crazy busy. I started working again in October 2011 and it has been a long year. We are all still adjusting to the way things work now vs when I was home. I realize now I should have done more when I was home because now I have no time. The trucking/warehousing industry is way more time consuming then I think most realize.

I have been knitting but slowly. I need to dig out some old projects and move them along, either send them off where they belong or work on them or scrap them and call it moot. I am currently working on a Wingspan and will be doing a hat mystery knit along as soon as I finish the Wingspan. I have some scarves that never got worked on and need to be sent to whom they belong. I also have some knitting gifts for friends that I havent talked to in a long time and send them on their way. I think I hit some kind of high functioning depression for a while and now I need to pull myself up and work it out.

I have lost touch and need to reconnect. Now is the time. So here hopes these arent just words but the start to action.

I also hope to blog more. Why not, I sit in front of a computer all day anyway.

Hope all is well, I know most wont read this, whatever readers I may have once had are most likely long gone but I need to do this for me.

Kids are good, they are learning lots and loving school. SCA has been partly put on Hold but again with the new year we hope to be active again, I miss it. Husband is husbandly and I love him, so all good there too.

Talk to you soon.

I Am A: Lawful Good Human Wizard (5th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-12

Dexterity-12

Constitution-12

Intelligence-13

Wisdom-15

Charisma-14

Alignment:
Lawful Good A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment when it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.

This is so very cool.

I love technology, I'm typing this from my NDS XL in my living room. The wifi is working for now, it's been a real ass lately. So whats happening in my life. I'm behind on everything and attempting to play perpetual catch up. I'm busy knitting on overdue projects, looking for a job, fighting with a ten year old house and all it's gadgets from falling apart, along w/both vehicles. Kids are pains but I still love them. New dog, cute but whiny, named him Ragnar, pictures soon to follow. Ok, I've abused the comma enough for one post and I have kids to get to school, a dog to bathe, a house to clean for a slumber party and regular party, two rsvps to send for the girls to attend a few parties, and a quick get away to plan for, oye, ooo and more jobs to apply for too.

Haven't posted for a while

Sorry to be AWOL for so long, not much happening here, Ju is now 6, the Tweedles are recently turned 5, boy is still trouble and 3.5. School has been interesting, a lot of work and just not enough time to do it in. I've been knitting some but nothing is really getting done. I've also done some card weaving, have some trim almost done. Learned how to make glass beads not so long ago, I will have to take some pictures so that you can all see and I can document. Sewing has been keeping me busy, T, boy and I are going to Pennsic and so I have a lot to do before then. really need to get my fitted dress done, would be nice to have one.

My friend Zoƫ and her husband Rob, just visited from England this last weekend and it was great! I was sad to see them go but hope that they have fun with our other knitting friend Kim in Atlanta. Someday I will get over to England and Scotland, and now we know a few more people from over that way. Also T and Rob seemed to hit it off, I think T has the fire to go now too. Woot.

Long time no write...

Well I recently moved this blog from another email address, the address here is screwy but hopefully in 90 days I'll be able to adjust it back to it's normal self.

Not much going on here, I'm in masters school and it's a ton of work. The kids are growing and are a pain in the toosh, hopefully that will get better.

I'm at Perkins right now, just did some homework and am hanging out with my friend Rach.

Life is busy, but good. We're making it all work the best we know how.

Lydia Underfoot Oldencia, June 2008 - October 2009

It's a sad day. Our dog of 1 year and a bit had to be euthanized. Please if you disagree don't comment, I don't care what you think, this was a choice that was already hard to make. I really fell in love with this dog, she was so sweet and happy. Even when she wasn't feeling well she would try to make me happy. She had a blockage in her small intestine that wouldn't pass in either direction and we could not afford to get it fixed. Our children come first and with the slow season in housing, hubby's work could be way less, and that money was just not available. It sucks and I hate it, I miss her already. I will miss her 15 minute crazy runs and her click clacking nails on the linoleum. I will miss her being so good as I trimmed and dremeled her toe nails to make her look pretty. I'll miss her hair everywhere and her way she looked at you with her loving very expression-filled eyes. She was a wonderful dog and I miss her so much and I hate that I couldn't do  her. I love you Lydia, enjoy the Summerlands.
