Well this just sucks...

So with all the rain we've been having and the wonderful clay filled ground I live on we now have wet carpet in our basement and a bunch of boxes have been soaked in our storage area. The rooms affected are of course my children's rooms so now we have to buy all new carpet. If we dont we could have mold and other nasties possible grow and make our kids sick, so it's all gotta go bye bye. So tomorrow we're getting a dumpster and tearing out all the carpet, moving around our whole house and basically clearing out everything.

This just blows.

Will you be My Valentine? :P

I'm still kind of in a funk, I think it's all the weather and lack of funds to do anything outside the house. We have our last shire meeting tonight, it's sad but hopefully we can get things going again after some time away to breath. We still have a yahoo group for if we ever want to get back together for anything. The webpage is officially down, but I have everything saved on the external HD so if we want to begin again we haven't lost everything.

I've got over 8000 stitches done on the shawl but that's barely 10% and that really sucks. So I'm off to go do some more knitting, I'm hoping to be done with chart A by tomorrow evening, we'll see what fate brings my way before then.

Oh yeah, and Happy Valentine's Day to all of you, I don't expect much on today because our anniversary for when we started dating is on the 18th and I always figured that was more important (12 years can you believe it, I can't) so Happy V day to all of you.

Here's a little romance music...

It's F-ing cold out there...

It was so cold on Sunday, I almost got frost bit running from my house to the van, and when I say that isn't very far, I'm not kidding on the cold. I had to run to my parents (a whole 5 miles) to finish our taxes and of course the van is on E, argh, so I had to do that on the way too. When I got to my parents place I was a bit worried about my calves (there was just about a 3 inch section below the knee exposed)(I know, I'm stupid) that was really tingling, not good. But at least they didn't stop until I was inside instead of outside where it would have been frost bite then. Some days I seriously need to think about things a little better.

I'm still working on the shawl, but not as much as I should. I'm going to make a point of working on it this afternoon, I really need to get it done so I can do other stuff, like finish the mittens for the girls and stuff for T and maybe even something for me, as well as the socks for my m-i-l and the scarf for Gran and oh yeah all the stuff I promised for my mom, argh, argh, arggggggghhhhhh. I need to knit faster and maybe an extra pair of hands, and the need for less sleep and more hours in a day, oye friggin vay.

It's Snowing.....

Well it isn't staying but we do have the first flurries of the year. I tried to take pictures but the snow doesn't want to be photographed. So I took this test instead :D...

NerdTests.com says I'm an Uber Cool Light-Weight Nerd. What are you? Click here!

No knitting questions but what do ya do. I got this from someone else's blog but I can't remember who's because I was just doing the click links thing.

I did get out yesterday after about one o'clock, but T kept calling me so I felt rushed for being out and enjoying myself. I went to the yarn shop Knit'n from the heart in Woodbury and helped a lady figure out how to do a k2, p2 rib, that was cool. Then I grabbed dinner and headed over to Rachel's to help her pick up boxes and go have a visit at Starbucks and knit. It was great to hang out with my friend again, I missed the time we used to hang out together. I'm really excited for her that she is going to be a homeowner soon and have such a great new place to live.

At the yarn shop I purchased some yarn and a magazine to knit T a hat that was on the cover. The yarn is Cascade yarns Lana Grande in a great burnt orange and the magazine is Knit Simple Fall 2007, it's a really cool pattern. Only problem is that his head is bigger than the pattern can handle so I had to figure out how to up it and then when he tried it on this morning it was a bit to shallow so I need to pull back my decreases and fix that, I may just frog the whole thing and start again my added on stitches suck, but I'm kind of mad at the hubby right now so I may say I don't care. Also just a note, 2 hour pattern took 4 without tassels and braids and crochet, and I need to find a crochet hook somewhere size K.

Well the natives are restless so I'm going to go get breakfast started and hope they chill.

I'm THick, ::cough:: ::cough:: ACHOOO!!!

So I'm not feeling the greatest and neither has our router. Ironically there was a huge storm Sunday night that knocked the power out for around 12 hours, we finally got power at 9:55am on Monday.

Big huge storm that hit hard all around us but seemed to not do much to our fairly new home with lack of full grown trees. The power outage actually was a blessing, maybe not that long was necessary but you know, I think the off time reset our router finally making it work. For the last week it has been second to second hit or miss. I haven't posted because most of the time I was lucky to even see if I had email let alone read it. So, I'm still feeling icky but its just residual I don't think I'm contagious anymore and the internet is working, YEA!!

For the storm I'd suggest reading G's blog on that, she is better informed. I just know that I heard my home town was hit pretty hard and my sis-i-l had some in-law family for her that was hit hard. So yesterday I had another 2 year old and a fairly newborn babe hangin' with me and the monkeys, that would be 6 against 1 for those counting. Oye, is all I have to say. The nieces, Miss Vi and Miss Ru, were good, my twins had some issues, Juju missed her nap window and wouldn't, and Se got a bit jealous when I was feeding Miss Ru her bottle of mom's best. He just freaked out, too funny, I'm such a mean mommy.

So any who, I missed Fiber Night with some friends on Monday, I figured they didn't want what I and my family had. And that bummed me out and Tomorrow I need to plan to work Renn Faire this weekend, pick up my dad's commuter car and pack my work clothes and sleep clothes and living clothes which maybe the same as the sleep since there isn't much sense in changing five times a day.

So there's an update. Hope to be more forthcoming with the posts as long as the router is being good.

Remember when . . . .

So I'm digging through the stash and you remember back in August when I got RAKed, well I'm still not doing the fetching gloves for myself, slacker, but I'm thinking of doing the Calorimetry from Knitty. The cold weather just doesn't want to go away and last Thursday at knitting group a girl had one and I thought "Well shoot that shouldn't give me headaches. So I'm digging through the small stash I have and I'm looking at all my RAKed stuff and trying to decided what I should knit with, since it's still my biggest part of my stash other than the sock yarn and kitchen cotton both not ideal for this pattern. I'll let you know how I fair on color and yarn decisions later. For now it's letting the screaming horde out of their chairs so they can play a little before nap.

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it Snow???

I thought you would all like to know the fun we're having here. I know I wished for snow, but this might be a bit much. I hope that T gets to work okay tomorrow morning, it's supposed to be near impossible to travel. I'm sure happy I'm not going anywhere. I wonder if T will be able to pick up my new sewing machine tomorrow or not, hmm. Chat with you tomorrow.
