Weekend Job and upcoming work....

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival starts this weekend and will continue on through the end of September. I'm excited to do some work for money and get some out and about social time. Earning money is the big plus for me, overall.

I should be going to bed and getting some rest, but like normal, I can't sleep.

I really hope I do well at faire this year, I always get nervous about getting back into the swing of things. Good times.

I'm also excited to announce that I'm going to be teaching a beginners knitting class at my local library. I'm hoping it turns out well.

Well I'm going to go to bed. Night all.

Middle Earth Meme

Your result for The What Middle Earth race do you belong to Test...

Wizard

You scored 0% Size & Strength, 76% Morality, 47% Aggression, and 65% Intelligence.

You scored high in morality and intelligence, but lower in physical strength and aggression, which means you're probably a Wizard. Counted among the very wise and (with that one exception) good creatures of Middle Earth are the Wizards, or Istari. Though they appear as old men, the Istari are actually powerful Maiar spirits sent from Valinor to Middle Earth to act as caretakers of the land and guides to men and beasts. Their supernatural heritage means they're also the only line of defense against rogue Maiar like Balrogs. Though only Gandalf, Saruman and Radagast are named through the novels, there are two other Wizards at large in Middle Earth, quietly working to bring tranquility to their surroundings.

Your polar opposite is the Urûk-Hai.

40% Hardcore

Your result for The hardcore SCA Test...

The Lord or Lady

You scored 40% hardcore SCA!

You really enjoy the SCA and like to go to events when you can. However it doesn't take over you life or anything. You've probably got an AOA or will have one soon. Sometimes folks wonder where you've been when you make it back to a meeting or event.

Confusion cleared.... + Update

So I figure I should mention that I did a ghost post while I was away at Lilies, I one wanted to try and two thought it wouldn't be a bad idea.

The kids had fun with Bumpa and Mama Tee, they tried camping, went on a boat ride (yes they all had toddler life jackets), came home had more fun at the house then the camper. Also Juju caught a 14" Walleye but if you ask her its the length of her hands and arms as far as the can go, she's already a fisherman with her tall tales.

T and I had a great time, he was sick of camping by the end because he had gone prairie doggen' the weekend before we went to Lilies. So on the Friday before we came home we went to a movie and had a little date. We saw Kung Fu Panda and it was hilarious, I loved it. During the week I learned some hand sewing and took some classes (hey G if I can get a hand out now that would be great) and had an overall good time.

When we got home, we decided to go to a movie a few days later with the girls and my sister watched lil' man at her new apartment. Lets just say he helped baby proof the place. The girls, hubby and I went and saw WALL-E, it was awesome, I loved it and so did the girls. The didn't fidget too much and Rae at the end said "YAY!" during the cute laughable resolution part, she got a laugh of her own for that one. She actually did it twice but she didn't get as big of a response the second time.

Since then the basements been finished, the kids are moved in, I've been trying to organize but failing. I have garb to sew up and hem, kids to talk to about nap time and the word 'quiet' and I've got a fight to break up right now. My weaving is now in knots as of yesterday and the kids are grounded from tv for a week.

All in all it's been a bit crazy and I don't seem to have enough energy to do anything.

Wonder Glass

a meme from Julie: Find the nearest book. Open on page 123. Find the fifth sentence. Post the next three sentences. Tag five people, and acknowledge who tagged you.

Well the nearest book is "Click, Clack, Moo" which definately doesn't have 123 pages. When I first read Julie's post I was near some RPGing books but I didn't have the time to sit down and do this. But the closest book to me right now with enough pages is "The Complete Works of Lewis Carroll", the selection is the end of a poem that wraps to the next page.

"Without, the frost, the blinding snow,
The storm-wind's moody madness --
Within, the firelight's ruddy glow,
And childhood's nest of gladness.
The magic words shall hold thee fast:
Thou shalt not heed the raving blast.

And, though the shadow of a sigh,
May tremble through the story,
For "happy summer days" gone by,
And vanish'd summer glory--
It shall not touch with breath of bale,
The pleasance of our fairy-tale."
I love Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, they are two of my favorite stories ever written and watched.

If anyone wants to play, consider yourselves tagged.

Tile update...

Well Joe's been working on the basement, it's looking very nice, I'm excited for it to be done. I'll post pictures later.

2008/06/15

Carpet is so passe...

Well the basement has been mostly emptied, at least where there was carpet is all gone. We're now going to have our neighbor Joe put tile into all three rooms. We'll just use area rugs for the kids rooms and some other types of throw rugs for the now play area, former living room. The upstairs is now the living room area, and it's going to stay that way. The upside is the house will look and hopefully be more functional after this. Well I'm late to bed and have lots more to work on tomorrow.

2008/06/12

Well this just sucks...

So with all the rain we've been having and the wonderful clay filled ground I live on we now have wet carpet in our basement and a bunch of boxes have been soaked in our storage area. The rooms affected are of course my children's rooms so now we have to buy all new carpet. If we dont we could have mold and other nasties possible grow and make our kids sick, so it's all gotta go bye bye. So tomorrow we're getting a dumpster and tearing out all the carpet, moving around our whole house and basically clearing out everything.

This just blows.

It's Raining, It's Pouring, ....

It's never going to end. Another Thunderstorm with big thunder and fun lightening. Good times.

Sorry I haven't written lately but I've been uber busy with the kids and haven't had the computer working either. Well I hould get off of here while the storm is rolling by. I just wanted to give a quick update that all was good.
