The Minnesota Renaissance Festival starts this weekend and will continue on through the end of September. I'm excited to do some work for money and get some out and about social time. Earning money is the big plus for me, overall.
I should be going to bed and getting some rest, but like normal, I can't sleep.
I really hope I do well at faire this year, I always get nervous about getting back into the swing of things. Good times.
I'm also excited to announce that I'm going to be teaching a beginners knitting class at my local library. I'm hoping it turns out well.
Well I'm going to go to bed. Night all.

Entertainment Abounds... or Not
So today wasn't very entertaining, the kid were crazy this morning, T was gone out hunting/scouting for muzzle loader season, and when he got home I finally got to leave. I of course left way later than I intended, and I'm super frustrated because I'm missing some very important yarn and I'm fairly certain I've searched all the places it could be and it isn't. The yarn is for my mom's hat, scarf, fingerless mitt set and I wanted to swatch for the mitts today if I found the time. The yarn is also discontinued Memories colorway Red Hat, so I'm getting uber frustrated.
After the yarn search, I went over to my friends place to help her pack some of her stuff, she is moving Friday into her new home and is need of all the help she can get. I feel bad I can't help more, but this is the time of year in our area where many men and some women are hunting and not available. For our family, it can mean the difference between eating and having enough or not having enough and making sure at least the kids have what they need. Last summer we had a rough spot where if we hadn't had the venison in the freezer it would have been even tighter and tougher to live. It can be a hard concept for those not from the area to get, it's definately different than other places I've been. And my friend is right, it would be nice to have something that we could do that meant we were gone for two whole weekends plus and it all be in our eyes fun. I don't consider Ren Faire to be part of this because I'm working and I'm working hard. But like fiber/knitting camp would be really cool to do sometime, or maybe a trip to Rhinebeck or the like.
I forgot to tell you last night that my Ravelry shirt arrived. I showed it to my husband but he was like "I don't get it", I showed it to my friend who's a knitter and she laughed. So I guess this isn't a shirt for the slow or unknowing, but I think I'm okay with that. I'll try to get a picture for the blog tomorrow when hubby gets home.
Well off to bed, busy day tomorrow, lots of dishes to clean from the weekend and some laundry to finish, and a ton of sorting to do also. And don't forget all that holiday knitting. Oye.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I GOT A SPINNING WHEEL, YIPPIE!!!!!!!!
Now that thats out of my system. I purchased a Ashford Traditional Single Treadle Spinning Wheel from a girl on Craigslist for ... wait for it ... $225.00, yesterday. It came with 4 bobbins and a 3 bobbin upright lazy kate and a orifice hook. She threw in my first fiber for free, eee!!! Of course as soon as thats out I'm screwed but I'll deal with that when I get there. My first bobbin sucked big time but my second isn't as bad, my issue is getting the feeding in timing just right. Practice, practice, practice.
--
On another note. Still working at faire, this last weekend was exhausting. But I'm doing well in pay so that makes it a-okay by me.
--
Not looking forward to the Dentist appt, I have tomorrow, but have to laugh that it's right above where I bank and I never knew there was a dentist there. This is my first time at this clinic so heres hoping all goes well and it doesn't turn out too pricey.

Update
So the monkeys are all down early today, they're all growing and grumpy and this mommy can only take so much. I'm also a little grumpy, dreaming too much, not enough sleep. Just one of those full moon nights. Had a friend from Ren Faire over for dinner, T and our guest got along well, good conversation was had. I made meatloaf with corn side and quick drop biscuits, mmmm. Want to buy more yarn really badly, but I'm holding back at least for the moment. I need to get some money into savings first. And I really want my kid tattoo.
I've been listening to a lot of Lime & Violet, I'm on March 2007 right now. I'm enjoying the podcast a lot and think you should all listen as well.
I've been knitting on the second sock, I've turned the heel and I'm working the instep now. I hope to be done by the end of next week. (I'm working on realistic goals)
Well, I should get to that.

Bad blogger, no cookie.
Sorry I've been bad these last few weeks, it's been crazy busy. I'm working at the MN Renaissance Festival this year. And with being sick and than work and than my period and the children, well, I'm tired. It's Friday already and Tomorrow I have to get up super early so I can drive out to fair by/before 7 am to help open up shop and get ready for the day. Here's hoping we don't get rained out again. I just made a purchase at Knit Picks on Wednesday for some Andean Silk in Pitch, Memories in Redwood Forest and the book Selbuvotter, oh and another set of size 6 options needles so I can make a pair of Fetching for my Ren Faire boss, Slugger.
Well off to spend some time with the children, hubby and the in-laws. Chat with you later.
