So I ordered some books on Amazon the other day, I'm very excited to get them. Of course two aren't published yet, but hey what can ya do. Amazon says I won't receive any of them until April and that sucks. Now I need to get some sewing done.

Fingerless sweet potatoes

One down, one to go. I need to cast on for the second and hopefully it will go better than the first. There were a lot of changes made so that it was longer and still fit, I also put on more stitches at the thumb at first. Anyway, I first need to feel better before I work on anything, I have some kind of stomach thing that is making me feel absolutely awful and its very painful in my belly.
C4 had his first taste of sweet potatoes last night, he loved them. We'll be doing some more tomorrow, its good that he likes them cause I sure as heck dont.
I need to go lay down.

Babbling
Why is it that every SCA event that our family goes to is freezing cold??? Anywho, we got to the event around noon, the directions got us lost but we eventually found our way. I wish we had set up the kids in the common area instead of fighting so I could socialize more, lesson learned. For $1.00 I got a drop spindle, it looks like its only worth a buck but hopefully it will work. I knit for the two hours to the event only to find out that I didn't decrease fast enough and had to rip back on T's mitt. Fortunately there was a life line. Green Jenny had a beautiful dress that I covet to make, she said it was a pattern that is just passed around in Nordskogen or was that Northshield?!?! Anywho, if you know the pattern could you help me to attain a copy so I can make me some, they look comfy and versatile and breastfeeding friendly. I would even where the head piece if it didn't give me a headache. Sorry about the lack of pics, they're coming and also for the babble but that's what this is for right.
On other SCA news, we are going to Lupercalia on the 17th of this month and Gulf Wars in MS in March, anyone else out there going? I didn't know who to pre-reg under group wise so I just did Stromfels. Hopefully we can set up near some Northshielders.
Well C4 is crying for food, so I should go.

I love Birthday money... Thank you Ma & Pa G for the $50 designated for yarn
Bagging It
Content: 100% Virgin Wool
Brand: Reynolds Lite-Lopi
Color: 0422 [Green] | Color: 0434 [Red] (The Red isn't really that bright, but it is a really nice bright red)
Project Idea: I'm going to collect this type of yarn until I have enough to felt into a project bag.
Clogging It
Content: 100% WoolBrand: Ella Rae Classic
Color: Unknown # [Putty Grey] (1/2 a ball, split with Rach) | Color: 106 [Burgundy] (2 balls) | Color: 38 [Cranberry] (oops, this isn't the same as 106?!?!? Sh*t)
Project Idea: I'm going to make felted clogs from the Fiber Trends pattern, I of course need to buy another Burgundy since I didn't look close enough in the store, doh! Do you see the difference in color, it's really slight and I may try and make it work but we'll see.
Socking It
Content: 60% Superwash Wool | 25% Mohair | 15% Nylon
Brand: Bearfoot Mountain Colors Hand Painted Yarns
Color: Northern Lights
Project: Well hopefully knee high socks, I only could afford one of these balls at $21.00 a skein, so lets hope. I'm going to knit two at one time so that if I run out it will be at the same spot and I can just continue on with a different skein. I need to get a scale so I can evenly split this.

This was all purchased at the LYS 3 Kittens

Cabling It
I almost forgot my new cable needle, I like the metal ones but with how many stitches I was flip flopping (C8B) I was worried I would break my needle so I tried this and liked it much better. Way more sturdy, my metal ones I think will be nice for socks.

Well I promised an explanation.....
Here is my first fair isle knit, it's a hat for C4, my newest, he keeps growing and that includes his head. I did a skull motif so he would look tough :D. as you can see it's not great and there are some definite issues, namely, the twists behind to carry the yarn showing through and its a little tight where the skull bones are at the top, I was getting impatient and pestered by DH by then about this being
C4's 4th hat and he still waiting for his fingerless mittens. I'm working on that now, hence the next picture of Cascade 220 The Heathers Color 9414 (Blue) Lot 5476, I plan to make his mitts and a hat from the three skeins I purchased and I may pick up some more for a scarf. I'm loving knitting with it, I got it on sale and even though I had to rip back it is wonderful, my personal technique is probably not much to desire but what to do other than practice. I did swatch but I'm not listening to it and I'm jumping ahead anyway, I want the tighter knit and it's really stretchy so I hope it works out.
I have some more pics to show you as well of some of my most recent purchases, Of course these were all purchased before I knew that our fridge would keel over, dumb fridge. I think I need to get knitting.

I should also mention the wonderful gifts I've received recently I have procured some beautiful stitch markers from 2 gals in my Knitting group. Thanks Steph & Alley and Liz. Along with the tea stitch markers, I also recieved two balls of Wool-Ease yarn in a pretty earth tone and some much needed cable needles, Thank you Steph & Alley, it saved me a purchase :D

Knitting gnomes
So I bought what was needed to knit a gnome, but of course did I ever get a chance to do it, nope. My goal is before my hubby's Birthday in May, he is a big gnome fan and the intended recipient in the first place. :P

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it Snow???
I thought you would all like to know the fun we're having here. I know I wished for snow, but this might be a bit much. I hope that T gets to work okay tomorrow morning, it's supposed to be near impossible to travel. I'm sure happy I'm not going anywhere. I wonder if T will be able to pick up my new sewing machine tomorrow or not, hmm. Chat with you tomorrow.
