Happy Birthday Lil'Man!!!!

So my youngest is the big 2 today, and I'm a little sad. My baby is growing up, he tells me "no" now and "I down", "Fire" (with the hand out like he's shooting it from his palm), and talkin about "cake". He says so much now it's kinda crazy. He's wearing 24 mth clothing, he still has short legs but his torso is long so it evens out. He still has his naughty moments but in all reality he's a really good kid. He just recently (like yesterday) opened his bedroom door and got out all on his own, crazy. I sure do love him and I wouldn't trade him for the world.

Granny & Bumpa got him a car and some really nice clothes. Aunt Janie, Uncle Dan & Cousins got him a small bulldozer and some really nice clothes. Mama Tee & Bumpa got him some really nice clothes as well, he'll be set for fall/winter now. Auntie Rachie got him some books and Uncle Kevin & Future Aunt Melinda got him some trucks. We're getting him Cars the movie as soon as we find a copy, I think it might be his new favorite.

I'm still Alive.....

So I'm still around, just been uber busy. After the all the holiday hub-bub, I'm still not done with all my holiday knitting. I got into the cold weather post holiday blues and haven't felt like doing much other than playing my new Nintendo DS and doing a little knitting. I had a birthday come and go, I'm now 27. On the weekends we've been RPGing which has been great fun, we plan to play again on Super Bowl Sunday, since the Packers won't be playing.

This weekend, Saturday, was awesome. I went to an SCA event by myself and had a great time. I bought a new simple tunic dress for $2.00 at a rumble sale and bought T a t-shirt for $10 (I think) and the best thing of all. I got a new card weaving inkle loom from a gentleman that makes them. When I was at the event, I finally after almost a year of carring my loom from gulf wars around, I got someone to show me how to use my loom and how to warp it. Of course, my loom is not as nice as I thought it was going to be, it's falling apart, **tear**, and the gentleman that makes them felt bad for me and gave a much finer piece of equipment. I also learned that the yarn I had purchased for a belt wasn't the best, when I got home it broke right next to the weaving and was unrepairable as far as I know. I may try that yarn again when I've got this whole thing figured out, but until them kitchen cotton and wool-ease should work well, I have tons of both. My next search is for some patterns I know how to read, I have the Card Weaving book by Interweave press but I'm not sure how it works with the loom I have, so I'm going to be asking about that soon, but for now an internet search should find me something simple enough. I very excited, I warped on my own yesterday morning some red and blue kitchen cotton and made a belt by last night. It's a little short for me and T but I'm sure a kid could use it or even a thin adult, but I'm really thinking it might make a great handle for a bag, since the ends aren't real pretty. I don't want to give it away because it's my first official card weaving finished project, so we'll see what happens, pictures soon I promise :D.

Well the tweedles are about to make a huge mess, so see you soon.

Mmmm Pie....

So not much in the land of knitting happened today, I made pies instead. Today was the pie party/m-i-l's 50th surprise birthday party, I made Mexican Chocolate Cream Pie, it was very good. Very cinnamon-y, but very good. I think my m-i-l's pie was the best, but that was really no surprises, my mom's was very good too, but wasn't officially a pie so I don't know if it would have qualified for the vote that we never actually took :D. I think I'm destined to be the one that makes the good but odd pies and I'm kind of okay with that.

The kids had a really good time and got to play and eat sugar to their hearts contents, fortunately they wanted veggies too. My m-i-l purchased a ball pit type bouncing thing that they all love.

I think that my m-i-l really liked the rolling pin we (I) got her, it was a hand turned french style rolling pin and it was really nice. I really hope she liked it as much as she said she did.

Well today was a very long day, so I'm thinking it's bed time, I did knit a few rows on my Calorimetry but not much. I just didn't have the time. It was really great to see so many friends and I finally got the measurements for my m-i-l feet so that I can make her a pair of socks for the holidays. I'm also making plans for an original fingerless mitts design, here's hoping it all works out :D.

Well night all, see you tomorrow.

Update

So, it's been crazy busy around here and I've had no time to knit on the shawl or anything else.

Saturday: SCA event for the Shire, River Revel II. I was busy from the time I got up until the time I got home and went to bed. The event went well, we had more people than we thought we were going to get so that was cool. And we had a lot of people there that are at least some what known in this area if not the whole kingdom and they said that they would push for even more people to come next year. We're very close to two very large groups that could easily come and play but many choose not to, and that sucks for our shire. I'll find out Thursday how everything pays out and if we lost money on another event or if we actually broke even/gained. I will say I am very happy with the quality of people that came if it isn't going to be quantity.

Sunday: The Twin's Birthday Party, that morning we accidentally all slept in until 8:30a, so the day started off with a run, and I still wanted to sleep more. I did some quick grocery shopping, baked a cake, made a noodle salad, cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, T did the rest of the house, bless him. We had a decent turn out considering the late invites, I told everyone way early but didn't get invites out until the last minute. We had plenty of food, and just enough pineapple carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, pics to come. I finally got to start reading HP7 that evening after the monkeys were all in bed and everyone left, I read until 1am and decided I needed to sleep and then read all day Monday until just before T got home. He of course bought himself a copy just in time to read mine :D. We'll give one to my sis for her birthday and all will be alright with the bookcase :P.

Tonight, T is at fight practice and I think I may just go to bed, I should knit on the shawl but at this point I'm so far behind whats one more day.

Welcome.

So not much happening here, but the hospital is rockin'. My s-i-l just had a baby girl 7 lbs 5 oz and healthy. We're going to let her rest today and tomorrow off to go see her as soon as T is home. Other than that, the children are being crazy and I'll be posting some pics for you all soon on the finished dishcloth. Now to the lace baby hat, need to get that done pronto now, although I suspect it's going to be a little big on the tyke.

Well....

Today is the big day, I'm 26, it doesn't feel any different than 25 but there it is. My parents got me a new nose ring since I some how lost my precious emerald, ::pout::. T didn't know what to get me so I told him to let me buy yarn, he wanted to get me the chair I've been wanting but its too much $$ right now. I told him it was the thought of him trying to find me something that counted. I got C1 to say "Happy Birthday Mommy", she has her version and she isn't hot on saying Mommy so she says "Me" at the moment of course because she doesn't want anything :P. My 'rents are taking me out to dinner tonight, I chose Olive Garden because it is fairly family oriented. This way there isn't any dishes to do. T goes in to the doc this afternoon to get a cyst removed from his back, it's been bugging him a lot, the last one was cancer free, so here's hoping this is too. I'm not too worried, cysts run in his family. Sorry about the run ons, I'm a bit tired and trying to get my lunch down before I have to pack up the girls and go go go.

On the yarn front, I bought a bunch of Sockatta, it's all discontinued colors and they're very pretty, I can't wait to get knitting them.

Well I should run, enjoy your day.
