Oo

Options.. I feel like I don't have any right now, T did hide the DS last night before he went to bed but I forgot to make his coffee so now I feel bad. That last hour last night I almost fell asleep knitting last night, I got 6 rows done with around 600 sts per row, a rough estimate of 3600 sts, and that's not including increases per se. My hands are killing me, but I'm going to go get my knitting, feed the kids and myself, take some pain killers and knit knit knit. I mean really what option do I have.

Nesting.. T is nesting a little, no we're not expecting another kid, I think its the spring fever thing. He gets like this every year around this time and I'm actually right there with him but I have to instead knit the shawl. I'm actually trying to avoid procrastinating now, because when I feel like it will never work and I'm doomed I tend to procrastinate. T has hidden the DS from me so I can't distract myself. I also wanted to get that wrap done for Ju for the wedding so honestly, I'll let him nest until after the wedding all by himself and hope I still have the need/want later next week. Well I'm going to go knit for another hour, night all.

Mom... it was her birthday yesterday, she's 39 again :P, I'm much in the due category for gifts, I have the yarn but owe her a hat/scarf/mitt set, I'm thinking a lace tam and lace scarf set with a designed to coordinate fingerless mitts. But the almost done shawl of doom must be done first and I have a pair of socks and two slingshots to do first from christmas, although they wont take long compared to this shawl. Speaking of I need to go work on that right now.

Happy Birthday Mom.

Love.. Things I love are my husband, my kids, to knit, my extended family, my in-laws, my time with my hubby, my time with the kids, my time alone/away, music, reading, sleep, not feeling like crap, quite time, happy kids, baby/kid laughs, hugs, kisses, a tidier home than mine, naps, movies, good food, theatre, well fitted clothes, buying yarn and accessories, shopping, going out, staying in, feeling good, not worrying, snuggling with the hubby, cuddling with the munchkins, having fun, roleplaying with friends, holding newborns, helping others, being genuinely wanted, honesty, truthful friends, taking pictures, hanging out knitting, less drama, camping sca-ish style, having game night with one of T's and my friends, and I'm sure there is more but I can't think of it now.

Knitting.. Kinda obvious this one. I love to knit, it's a wondrous thing, I love everything that is but the pain in my hands when I can't take decent breaks because of a deadline. But I digress. I learned to knit many years ago from my Gran but it never really clicked for me. Every few years I would try again but it just wasn't the right time yet. Then a few years ago I started to knit again and it just clicked. Now, I've psyched myself out a few times on different stitches and the like, but not for long. I kind of consider myself a fearless knitter because honestly what is the worst that could happen, you have to rip it out and try again. It's not like a lot of other crafts out there where once it's cut/stamped/sewn it's kinda got to be that or it's garbage. Sometimes yes you can salvage but really knitting is just one of those things where if you really hate what it looks like or it's all a mess you can rip back and fix it and all is well. And I do make mistakes, quite often actually, but I'm willing to either just deal with them (like in the shawl, it's a time crunch people) or I'll go back and fix it and no one will know but me. I've tried socks, lace, and fair isle all on a whim because I hadn't done it yet and how hard could it really be, and you know what it wasn't. I love to knit and I've really found myself in knitting, I feel I belong with it and that it was definately something that was missing in my life before. I wish I could make a living at it but I don't know if I really want to at the same time. I just hope that I never have to stop and that this shawl doesn't kill me before I get to the end.

January.. or at least that's what it looks like outside. It's not only raining but it's snowing too. So yucky icky slush is everywhere, it is the worse to drive in, worse than snow in January actually, and worse than a terrible rain storm in the summer. And of course just in par with last year, the Yarn Harlot is coming today/night and it was bad weather last year too. At least Se got to stay home this time, away from the muck. Well I have some housework to do before I can even get ready to go, pics later from the YH event.

Ikea.. I like Ikea, it's not the highest quality of stuff, but it's nicer than Target/Wal-Mart and it's the right price. Hubby isn't big on putting the stuff together but I think it's great. You don't need to ask them to drop it off and it fits in a compact car usually. Their stuff also wears well and holds up to the kids pretty well. I wish I had more of their organizational stuff, I know I need it. Ikea has one disadvantage too many people are there on Sunday afternoons and we seem to get rain every time we go to actually purchase furniture. At least it only took an hour to put a dresser together and it may have even been quicker if we hadn't just taken our time.

I do realize I'm grasping for this one. Sorry if you bothered to read this.

Hats.. I like hats, supposedly I look good in most hats, I don't wear hats because they mess with my sinuses. I love to knit hats, they are typically in the round, at least for me. I'm actually very excited to knit my mom a tam, and I hope to get around to a ton of other hat projects I would like to do someday. I may even make me one that won't hurt my head. But like normal I have shawl knitting to go do and I'm going to go and do it now.

Grateful... For when my husband comes home and I can take a breather from the kids. They are all toddlers right now and it can get pretty intense sometimes. He can take a lot less from them in the whiny dept but that is understandable after a hard day at work. He needs to chill a little bit more but when he's in the thick of it he really does do great. I really appreciate it when he is here to help. Now I need to go break up a fight.

ETA: Blogger isn't listening to me.

Food.. I love food, I love to eat. I like a wide variety and the only food I really won't eat is fish and some select veggies/fruit. Otherwise I like food very much, I like healthy food that doesn't necessarily taste healthy and I try to stick to some natural foods, like I typically don't do artificial sugars. I like to bake as well, I limit myself but I do really like to do it. I love it when T makes food because it is almost always very good. Food is one of things where I like to watch tv about it as much as I like to do it, almost as much as knitting. :D

ETA: This posted on Friday but I posted it on Sunday. I wrote it on Friday and waited to post, not realizing the date stamp would be wrong.
